Pariksha pe Charcha' remains just talk: Experts

Rakhi, a parent from Banjara Hills, whose son is studying in Class 10 in Chirec School said that the joy of the last exam has gone now.

New Delhi: CBSE Class 12 Economics students were shocked to know that the board has now decided to re-conduct the Economics exam when they have to prepare for the entrance exam which begins from April.

Cancellation of Maths and Economics exams of CBSE shows the failure of Central government administration. It shows that the government does not care ‘Pariksha pe Charcha,’ alleged educationists.

In a circular released by the CBSE, it was stated that “the Board has taken cognizance of certain happenings in the conduct of certain examinations as reported. With the view to uphold the sanctity of the Board examinations and in the interest of fairness to the students, the Board has decided to re-conduct the examinations in Class 12-Economics and Class 10 Mathematics.

“Dates for fresh examinations and the other details shall be hosted on the CBSE website within a week’’.

Rakhi Agarwal, a parent from Banjara Hills, whose son is studying in Class 10 in Chirec School said that the joy of the last exam has gone now. “It is really disappointing. Lakhs of students suffer because of few people who indulge in paper leak. It is a big disappointment for us. The government should see to it that such paper leaks don’t happen again though there is lot of transparency. We just hope the authorities concerned will take proper, strict action from now on,” she said.

“I consoled my son by telling him that I myself had to reappear for my maths and science paper when I was in Class 10 Board in the year 1988. My son is really disappointed and he asked me whether he has to study the Maths paper all over again. I don’t know what these people gain by making all the other students suffer by paper leakage,” Rakhi added.

Neha Goyal, a resident of Basheerbagh and a parent said, “If the authorities were so sure of paper leakage, they should have just cancelled today’s exam. Instead of it, they should have just re-conducted the exam again directly with the new question paper.

“Appearing for exams itself is a brain drill. Now again, students will have to go through this with the re-conduct of the examination. Due to such paper leakages, brilliant students tend to lose interest in studies”.

“I am very disheartened with the paper leakage issue and none of the students in my daughter’s class knew about the paper leak. Now, students of other grades also know about the paper leak as now news has become so viral which will affect the other students as well.

The main reason for the paper leak is corruption in the country. A CBSE paper leak has happened surely due to corruption which is highly outrageous. How can a CBSE paper leak despite having so much technology?” Neha asked.

Stuthi Goyal, a student of Class 10 board from Delhi Public School said, “We all were so excited thinking that Maths was our last Board exam today but right now, I am very disturbed because of the paper leak because I have done lot of hard work. Yesterday night, I was awake preparing for the maths paper and today, after appearing for the exam we got to know that paper was leaked’’.

“Instead of punishing the culprits, all the innocent students are being punished. We worked so hard since one week and appeared for the paper with a lot of stress because maths is one of the hardest subjects. We did all this hard work ,” she said.

Annoyed with the paper leak and re-conduct of the Board examination, Class XII students from Delhi would reportedly hold a protest on Thursday at Jantar Mantar, Delhi. The students alleged that they have put in their best efforts for the Board exams and the cancellation of the exam is totally unfair.

Students have invited all those students who demand the cancellation of re-examination by the CBSE. Students alleged that CBSE cannot cancel the examination just because a bunch of not so hardworking students indulged in unethical activities and make other students suffer.
