Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has successfully cleared hyacinth and eliminated the dense larvae in Vennelagadda Cheruvu in Quthbullapur.
Speaking about the achievement, Quthbullapur deputy commissioner Sudhamsh said that the weed in the lake has been successfully removed and the larvae density has been brought to zero. He has also commended the priceless efforts of the entomology department. He said that entomology staff used larvicide and adulticide in a knapsack spray to kill larvae and adult mosquitoes. The commissioner added that the corporation will be taking all necessary measures to keep the larval density at 0 and stop the regrowth of hyacinth.
