Vijayawada: TD MLC Samanthakamani requested the state government to immediately focus on manufacturing of adulterated food products in Guntur district. While participating in a discussion in the council on Wednesday, she said that red chili powder, ghee, milk and every food product was being adulterated.
Earlier, PDF MLCs had given adjournment notice on CPS which the Council chairman had rejected following which they staged a protest at the chairman's podium. PDF MLCs had demanded to scrap the new Contributory pension scheme and implementing the old system for the benefit of the employees. They said the state should mount pressure on the Centre to amend CPs system.
MLC Samanthaka-mani said the health of people was gradually declining due to consumption of adulterated food products but the authorities have not been taking any action against those adulterating food products. She said it is painful to see more complaints pouring in especially from the villages near the Capital city. She even suggested that a separate mechanism should be implemented to check adulteration of food products. Along with Ms Samanthakamani, a few other MLCs demanded stringent action against those adulterating food products.
