Maths question paper not leaked: CID probe

Rumour was spread by a few students.

Bengaluru: The CID, which is probing the II PU Chemistry question paper leak, has dismissed claims that the Mathematics question paper was also leaked.

“CID officials checked with thousands of students, lecturers and officials from the PU board and have come to the conclusion that the rumour about the Mathematics question paper leak was spread by a few students, who did not do well in the examination,'' said an officer.

But strangely, the investigating officers have come across a fake English language question paper, which was widely circulated among the students. “The CID has concluded that this English question paper was fake as it does not tally with the real one. So it has been dropped from the ambit of investigation,” added sources.

PU board officials claimed that although students were aware of an English question paper circulating, they did not make it an issue as the examination was easy. "Compared to the fake, the real question paper was easy. So students were happy and did not raise a hue and cry.

Mathematics , on the other hand , was very tough, and so they raised the bogey of a question paper leak and also accused the PU Board of asking questions out of syllabus," alleged a board officer.
