Bengaluru: Give me power, I'll finish off ACB, says HD Kumarswamy
Mysuru: State JD(S) president H.D. Kumaraswamy has said that if his party comes to power in the next Assembly elections, they will shut down the newly formed Anti-Corruption Bureau in 24 hours. He added that he could not raise the issue during the Assembly session due to ill health.
“I am not playing a double game here. We will fight against it,” he said while trying to dismissreports that he had struck a deal with the Congress.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, Mr Kumaraswamy said the CM should clarify if he is forming the ACB to protect the corrupt or foster corruption.
Reacting to the alleged attempt made by illegal sand miners to ‘crash’ an ASP’s jeep in Mysuru district, he alleged that the sand mafia was operating systematically in the CM’s home district with sand being shifted to Kerala.
Children of ministers are involved in sand mafia operations in Mysuru, he claimed. “With such attacks on officers who raid illegal sand mining, the state is witnessing ‘Jungle raj’ like Bihar and UP.
Why don’t FIRs get registered even 24 hours after such incidents? Is CM trying to protect illegal sand miners more than officers?,” he said.
