Hyderabad: New roads planned to link Outer Ring Road
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has set aside Rs 50 crore to lay new roads, connecting Outer Ring Road with other suburbs.
The new roads will come up in Bhongir, Sangareddy, Ameenpur, Pocharam and Ibrahimpatnam.
The HMDA will develop the service road in Bhongir at a cost of Rs 18 crore, Sangareddy (Rs11 crore), Ameenpur (Rs 6 crore), Pocharam (Rs 4 crore) and Ibrahimpatnam at Rs 4 crore.
The new roads will also connect the 158-km ORR to other districts of Telangana. The HMDA has been constructing five radial roads for an estimated cost of Rs 1,000 crore.
The work is going on at Radial Road No. 8 (Moosapet to BHEL), Radial Road-20 (Nagole Bridge to Singaram), Radial Road-26 (Kanchanbagh to Adibatla), Radial Road-31 (Taranagar to Devaraguda) and Radial Road-32 (Nizampet to Kazipalle).
The government had taken up 33 radial roads and HMDA was allotted seven roads. The metropolitan body has been given five more radial roads.
