Andhra Pradesh: BJP comes out with new poll plans

A section of BJP leaders will take an aggressive posture and go full throttle in public against the Telugu Desam (TD) as part of the action plan.

Vijayawada: With the elections not too far away, the BJP has started implementing its action plan for Andhra Pradesh.

While maintaining ‘coalition dharma’, the BJP wants to expand its base by taking credit for Centrally-sponsored schemes and highlight certain shortcomings of its alliance partner and the state government.

A section of BJP leaders will take an aggressive posture and go full throttle in public against the Telugu Desam (TD) as part of the action plan.

A group of state BJP leaders is already taking credit for securing the inclusion of six Telangana state villages into Andhra Pradesh that are in the submergence area of the Polavaram project to facilitate work on the dam.

The group is also claiming credit for securing national project status for the multi-purpose project and 100 per cent funding by the BJP-led Union government.

They will fault the Telugu Desam in public for inducting defector YSRC legislators into the N. Chandrababu Naidu Cabinet without seeking their resignation, among others.

The recent utterances of BJP leader P. Vishnu Kumar Raju and former Union minister and BJP leader D. Purandeswari on the defectors is seen as a part of the plan, BJP MLC Somu Veerraju has frequently spoken of the TD “cheating” the BJP in the past.

BJP leaders are of the opinion that their unhesitating belligerence against their alliance partner will infuse the cadre with much-needed.

The cadres complain that they are ignored by TD workers and leaders.
“It is unfair that the the TD takes credit of many Centrally sponsored schemes.

The BJP-led Union government has given huge funds for the state. It is now our time to take credit for the good deeds that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done for the state,” a BJP leader said.

“Never in the history of any state were so many Central institutions sanctioned in a short span of time. “A special package has also been announced for Andhra Pradesh,” a BJP leader said.
