Hyderabad police urged to cancel event by Dawat-e-Islami

The Dawat-e-Islami plans to conduct the congregation on December 29 and 30 at Idgah Mir Alam ground.

Hyderabad: Sufi organisations on Thursday submitted a complaint to the office of police commissioner Anjani Kumar asking him to cancel permission for the two-day congregation of Dawat-e-Islami, alleging that it was headquartered in Pakistan and associated with terrorist and sectarian groups.

The Dawat-e-Islami plans to conduct the congregation on December 29 and 30 at Idgah Mir Alam ground.

A delegation of representatives of Sufi organizations comprising Hafiz Muzaffar Husain Banda Nawazi (convener, Milad Rally), Moulana Syed Ahmed Hussaini (president, Quadria International), Moulana Syed Aale Mustafa Quadri (president, AIUMB), Moulana Syed Ghulam Samdani Ali Quadri (president, Seeratun Nabi Academy), Moulana Sufi Abdul Qadir Sani called on DCP, South, Amber Kishore Jha and appealed him to cancel the permission if granted. The police official asked them to produce evidence supporting their claims.
