Chennai is fast developing as a medical tourism hub, says CM Edappadi K Palaniswami

The association has ensured that the latest modern surgical technologies are taken to everyone in our country.

Chennai: Chief Minister Edappdi K. Palaniswami on Thursday said that Chennai is fast developing as a medical tourism hub.

Speaking at the annual conference of the Association of Surgeons of India, he said that the associations was started in 1938 with its headquarters in Chennai. The association has ensured that the latest modern surgical technologies are taken to everyone in our country.

“I am happy to note that more than 18,000 surgeons in the association are serving our people to relieve them from pain and sufferings in a selfless and committed way. I hope you share the latest developments and your valuable experiences in the conference so that the surgeons become more skilled and effective,” Palaniswami said.

Stating that Chennai is fast developing as a medical tourism hub he said the conference would add pace towards this objective.

“Amma’s (Jayalalithaa) government always provides excellent medical services to people of Tamil Nadu and it has established health and medical care facilities all over the state. My Government has taken various policy decisions towards the same so that Tamil Nadu becomes a numero uno state for providing healthcare facilities not only for our countrymen but also for everyone all over the world,” he noted.

“I thank the organisers of the conference for inviting me and hope this conference would benefit all those who are participating in it. I also sincerely wish that the outcome of this conference would benefit the humanity as a whole,” he concluded.
