AP High Court speeds up division of employees
Hyderabad: With four days left for the AP High Court to start functioning, work was proceeding quickly to bifurcate employees of the two states. Digitalisation of files for both the states is almost done. There are about 1,600 employees with the Hyderabad High Court, who have to be distributed in the ratio of 58:42 between AP and Telangana state.
So far, only forms containing the options of employees have been collected in sealed covers. Following the notification to bifurcate the court, the administration department has taken up the work to bifurcate staff with immediate effect.
A team of judicial employees has been sent to Amaravati to coordinate with the AP government.
The administration department is waiting for warrants from the law ministry to hold the swearing-in ceremony of the judges for the AP High Court.
There was mixed reactions among court staff on Thursday. TS advocates and one group of advocates from AP burst crackers and cut cakes to celebrate the bifurcation. Another group of advocates from AP, particularly Rayalaseema, staged a protest alleging that the notification was issued in a hurry to keep a particular section of people happy. Some advocates also boycotted duties.
