HMDA issues notification for land pooling scheme

The Hyderabad Metro-politan Development Authority (HMDA) issued a notification for the land pooling scheme (LPS) on Wednesday.

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metro-politan Development Authority (HMDA) issued a notification for the land pooling scheme (LPS) on Wednesday. For the first time, this scheme will be taken up in the state capital region.

Commissioner T. Chiranjeevulu has invited land owners to participate in land pooling and development schemes. He, however, stated that the land should be minimum of 50 acres and with clear ownership titles. Lands stuck in disputes and court cases would not be considered for the LPS. Thirty days time has been allotted to give consent to participate in the scheme.

The metropolitan body will take up all development works in a time-bound manner in three years with no costs or liability to land owners. The developed land would be shared between land owners and HMDA in a definite ratio based on the project costs. Each reconstituted plot is guaranteed to have a minimum of 30-feet wide developed road, mandatory open spaces and other amenities.

Mr Chiranjeevulu said that upon receipt of willingness from land owners, HMDA would take up the feasibility of undertaking the scheme as per the rules.
