2,600 jobs created via Job Connect in Hyderabad

The youths from the lower strata of the society were the prime beneficiaries.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad city police has started a new initiative, Job Connect, which has seen more than 2,600 youngsters landing jobs in the last few months.

The youths from the lower strata of the society were the prime beneficiaries. Station House Officers (SHOs) are entrusted with the task of spreading awareness about the new initiative among the youth, said a task force official.

“We have hired experts to answer all job-related queries. This will help them understand the job market in a better way,” said R. Srinivas, inspector of Gandhinagar.

“After noticing that the youths are getting attracted to criminal activities, we started a recruitment drive and provided them free training classes. We started this initiative under the leadership of Mahendar Reddy, ex-Hyderabad city police commissioner,” added Mr Srinivas.

The youths can also get details of qualification and salaries by talking to counsellors. They can download Hawk Eye, an app of the city police, from Playstore, which will facilitate registration. A local hotspot is also created around the van by installation of data WiFi routers.
