BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has lamented that the property tax collection in the city was poor. While launcheing an e-governance application dedicated to improve the services to citizens here on Tuesday the Chief Minister said, "Bengaluru city is brimming with a population of one crore. But the number of property tax payers is not on lines with the expectation."
He urged the citizens not to fool the civic body while paying the property tax. The Chief Minister said, "I wish people pay their taxes promptly and make use of the applications launched by BBMP." He even directed Gunashekar, Chairman of Taxation and Finance to take measures to improve property tax collection.
Along with the e-governance applications, a renewed user-friendly website designed in association with ISRO was also launched. In his address Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Ananth Kumar said, "BBMP is taking all possible measures to implement e-governance. With the newly launched services we can verify online whether a property owner has paid his taxes or not."
