Hyderabad High Court notice to seed companies
The bench on December 20 had suggested to the petitioner to implead the seed companies.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday admitted a public interest litigation by TS Telugu Desam working president A. Revanth Reddy challenging the inaction of the state government in recovering damages from seed companies for supply spurious seeds and paying compensation to affected farmers.
A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice A. Shankar Narayana was allowing the applications to implead all companies which had allegedly supplied spurious seeds as parties to the petition.
The bench on December 20 had suggested to the petitioner to implead the seed companies. While ordering the implead petitions, the bench issued notices to the state government and seed companies and adjourned the hearing.
