Union health minister assures all help for new trauma centre, calls for providing mental care to rural areas.

Bengaluru: Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda assured of extending all the support for the proposed modern trauma care centre proposed in the Bengaluru north region.

In response to the requests made by state Medical Education Minister Dr Sharan Prakash Patil and Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.N. Ananth Kumar, Mr Nadda assured of all support, including special financial package for the proposed centre. He requested Mr Patil to extend required logistic support. Mr Patil said that state government has already sanctioned 40 acres of land for this proposed centre.

Mr Nadda also stressed on the need to extend mental health facilities to all the rural areas to ensure that people benefit from the latest technology. Regarding the National Mental Health Survey report, Mr Nadda observed that this report stresses on the need of taking mental health facilities to the door step of each family.

ISRO Chairman Kiran Kumar emphasized on the importance of inclusive approach in strengthening the health care services and technology. "Telemedicine is one of the thrust areas. There is also need of bringing together engineers and doctors together to improve the medical technology. Efforts are being done in this regard," he said.
