Hyderabad: Apart from its applaudable financial help, to the tune of Rs 10 lakh to each of the families of deceased manual scavengers a fortnight ago, the TSLSA is back in the news with rescuing two persons with psychosocial disability who had left their houses long ago.
Apart from providing free legal aid services to deserving categories of people, the Telangana state legal services authority (TSLSA) has been showing great concern for deprived people.
TSLSA successfully handed over two intellectually challenged persons to their relatives, tracing out their kith and kin in the Telangana state.
The victims Shakuntala, 70, from Zaheerabad and Dasarath, 30, unknowingly left their home several years ago and reached Kerala. They were rescued by the Kerala police and shifted to the mental health institute at Thiruvananthapuram.
The TSLSA received communication from the Kerala State Legal Authority (KSLA) to the effect that two mentally ill persons who belongs to Telugu-speaking states were admitted and nothing was found to trace their roots except present photographs.
TSLSA made strenuous efforts to trace the particulars of the two persons with the help of legal services functionaries and the police and finally succeeded in finding their kith and kin.
G.M. Subrahmanyam, member secretary, TSLSA, on Wednesday handed over the two persons to their relatives.
