Sore over govt apathy RTC conductor resigns

L. Krishna said that the RTC workers realised too late that the chief minister will go back on his promises made during the Telangana agitation.

Hyderabad: Frustrated with the attitude of the state government towards the RTC workers’ strike, a gutsy conductor working in the Suryapet depot tendered his resignation stating that he could not continue in the job by sacrificing his self respect.

L. Krishna (Staff No 176822) of Suryapet depot has attached a letter addressed to the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) along with his resignation papers, requesting the depot manager to forward his letter to the Chief Minister.

Mr Krishna in his letter to the CM said that he wants to live with self respect in Telangana, but that would not be possible as long as a big man like KCR is in power.

He said that the RTC workers realised too late that the chief minister will go back on his promises made during the Telangana agitation.

“We neither visualised nor thought of dictator rule in Telangana, as separate statehood was achieved with the sacrifice of 1,200 people and my fellow sister workers and brothers in RTC blindly believed KCR during the agitation and faced the police lathis,” he said.

Declaring that he would not continue in the RTC under KCR’s fascist rule, he requested the chief minister to accept his resignation and ensure his service benefits were paid.
