Bengaluru: Eight held for honey-trapping, blackmailing ex-ministers, MLAs

The accused were running a sex racket and targeted only politicians and rich businessmen through their ‘call girl\' service.

Bengaluru: Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths arrested eight people, including two women, who honey-trapped and blackmailed former ministers and MLAs with videos recorded during their private moments with the women.

Four of the accused were identified as Raghvendra alias Raghu, a resident of Parappana Agrahara, his woman friend Pushpa, a resident of Whitefield, Uday and Pushpa, who allegedly took the blackmailing route to extort corores of rupees from former ministers and MLAs in the last one-and-a-half-years by threatening to leak their videos.

The accused were running a sex racket and targeted only politicians and rich businessmen through their ‘call girl' service.

According to the police, Pushpa was sent to politicians and she established a close relationship with them by narrating her ordeal.

She later recorded the videos of her intimate moments with the victims with the help of Raghu and others.

The gang was busted and the accused were arrested after they allegedly demanded Rs 25 crore from a politician who complained to the CCB. The cops laid a trap and arrested the accused.
