Won't spare any looters, says PM Modi in Telangana

Richest persons destroyed banking sector; only 12 persons looted with Congress' help, alleges Modi.

Nizamabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that he would not permit anyone to loot public money in the country.

“We will not spare the financial offenders who looted public money from the banks,” he declared.

The NDA government will confiscate the assets of the accused either in India or abroad, he said.

Mr Modi began his election campaign in Telangana state in Nizamabad on Tuesday. He said that only 12 persons in the country had looted public money from banks with the connivance of the then UPA government.

During 2008-2014, the richest persons in the country destroyed the banking sector, he said.

“Reframing the laws, we successfully prevented the looters and some of them fled away from the country fearing stringent action,” he claimed.

He said the people of Telangana state must not entertain the Congress party in the ensuing Assembly elections.

Congress had failed to get re-entry in UP, Bihar, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Gujarat, where it was wiped out decades ago.

Mr Modi said that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was a minister in the UPA government and he is playing a friendly match with the Congress, believing in family rule and vote bank politics.

Mr Rao is too insecure to implement the Ayushmanbhava scheme in Telangana as it may credit PM Modi, he said.

The TRS government has failed to fulfil the aspirations of Telangana people. If the BJP is voted to power in Telangana, simultaneous development will be possible “like double engine force”.

The Prime Minister criticised the Congress for destroying India on all fronts “and now they (Congress leaders) are pointing out my caste, age of my mother and name of my father. Are these the issues for election debate in the country” he asked.

Mr Modi said the Centre has taken up Pancha Tatva formula to implement welfare schemes.

“I knew the pain of poverty. My mother used to cook food on a chullah, which is harmful to health of women,” the Prime Minister said.

“Preventing irregularities in LPG connection, we seized 6 crore bogus connections and saved Rs 90,000 crore public money.”

Mr Modi said that people should vote for BJP and its candidates for good and transparent governance in Telangana.

Union minister Hansraj Gangaram, MP Bandaru Dattatreya and others were present.
