E-District to give non-creamy record
Thiruvananthapuram: The government decided to issue non-creamy layer certificate through the e-district portal, which has so far processed over four crore certificates of the revenue department.
A formal announcement in this regard has been issued by the government. Already 23 certificates of the revenue department were being offered through e-district portal. Non-creamy layer certificate is issued to persons of the other backward class category for reservations in jobs and educational institutions.
Piloted in 2010 and rolled out across the state in 2013, so far over four crore applications for various certifications were submitted on the portal. About 3.9 crore certificates were already issued to applicants.
The public can apply for any of the certificates online by themselves or through Akshaya centres. The prescribed fees could be paid online. The certificate will also be issued online with digital signature of the village officer concerned.
To boost the e-district further, the government is planning to announce incentives to officials who issue the maximum number of certificates in the minimum time. Even now many officials are clearing the applications beyond office time.
The e-district portal also conducts services like RTI and public grievance, online payment of water supply and electricity and forest department services.
