Complaint against Vanteru Pratap Reddy falls flat

Hyderabad: The complaint filed against caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s opponent and Congress candidate for Gajvel Assembly constituency Vanteru Pratap Reddy has turned futile.
The flying squads that searched his house in Hyderabad could not find any evidence to prove that money was being distributed from his residence.
However, in one instance, the police found a link to Mr Pratap Reddy, when his aide was caught carrying Rs 20 lakh in cash while travelling in an RTC bus.
High drama occurred at the residence of Mr Pratap Reddy on Monday night when the police turned up to investigate the allegations and the man and his family cried foul over political rivalry.
“A complaint was filed with the Election Commi-ssion against Mr Pratap Reddy alleging that his son was distributing money from his residence in Hyderabad, following, this flying squads were sent to his house. However, the squads failed to find any evidence to prove the allegations,” a senior police officer said, adding that the enforcement team is also probing the link between Mr Pratap Reddy and the '20 lakh cash seized.
