Tamil Nadu Governor visits Mahabalipuram with his family

He also interacted with tourists from abroad and other states and enquired about the facilities available to them.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit spent a few hours at Mahabalipuram, a bustling port city and a cradle for arts during Pallava rule, along with his family on Monday.

Accompanied by his wife and daughters, the Governor reached the city of sculptures by noon and had lunch at the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) restaurant. Later, Purohit and his family members visited the shore temple, a Unesco world heritage site, before exploring nuances of Pallava sculptors in 'five raths'.

He also interacted with tourists from abroad and other states and enquired about the facilities available to them. After visiting Arjun tapas and shore museum, the Governor offered prayers at the Sthalasayana Perumal Temple.

The Governor also discussed with tourism department officials on the facilities available for tourists in the much sought after tourist destination.
