K Chandrasekhar Rao thanks MK Stalin for support
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday called DMK working president M.K. Stalin on the phone and thanked him for backing his fight for more power to states to provide reservations to socially and economically backward communities. Mr Rao had recently appealed to the Centre during his speech in the Telangana state Assembly to increase reservations for SCs, STs and minorities. He said the powers regarding this need to be delegated to the states.
Reacting to the Chief Minister’s statement, Mr Stalin, the leader of Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, had on Sunday released a statement from the DMK headquarters congratulating the initiative in securing increased reservations to various sections on the lines of 69 per cent reservations which are in vogue in Tamil Nadu. Mr Stalin extended his full support to Mr Rao for his efforts and the demand of delegation of powers to states in deciding reservations.
