Amrutha is lying she's Amma's daughter, says AIADMK
Chennai: Dismissing claims by a Bengaluru-based woman that she was the biological daughter of late chief minister J Jayalalithaa, AIADMK and rebel TTV Dhinakaran camp on Monday said there was no truth in the allegations which seem to have been made due to “ulterior motives”. While fisheries minister D. Jayakumar said there was some “ulterior motive” in Amrutha, the woman who filed a petition before the Supreme Court, claiming that she was the daughter of Jayalalithaa, TTV's aide Pugazhendi threatened of filing a case against the 37-year-old woman if she continues with her claims.
“It is not for us to prove. The burden of proof is on her (Amrutha), but the way she has filed the petition and asked for exhumation of Amma's body, I suspect some ulterior motive in her allegations,” Jayakumar said, dismissing her claims as “baseless.”
Pugazhendi said Amrutha was “lying” and threatened to file case against her if she does not withdraw her remarks. “She is lying. If she continues to defame late Amma by claiming that she is her biological daughter, I will not be quiet. If she does not withdraw her remarks, I will file a case against her,” he said.
Amrutha Sarathy, 37, told Supreme Court that a DNA test will prove that she is the offspring of Jayalalithaa. The Supreme Court told her to approach the Karnataka High Court and that it will not intervene at this
stage.
