Police kept ready to handle bandh in Telangana
Hyderabad: Telangana police has made all necessary arrangements in view of the Opposition parties’ call for national bandh against the demonetisation of high value currency notes.
According to additional DG (law and order) Mr. Anjani Kumar, district SPs and commissioners of police were directed to take necessary bandobust arrangements to maintain law and order in the state.
Additional forces will be deployed at railway stations and bus stations, he said. The city police, meanwhile, said that they directed all the zonal DCPs and ACPs to provide security at government offices, educational institutions and at road junctions.
Chikkadpally inspector M. Sudharshan said that no permission was given for any rally in connection with the bandh by trade unions. “We are deploying additional forces at key junctions like VST, RTC Cross Roads and Indira Park in the view of rally,” he said.
Similarly, the Congress has given a call for a human chain at RBI office at Gunfoundry. INTUC, RTC and auto unions JACs are participating in the bandh called by the Congress led opposition parties. The TRS and BJP led unions are staying away from the bandh.
