Oppn's Aakrosh Divas on demonetisation 'an utter flop': Yeddyurappa
Bengaluru: BJP's Karnataka unit President B S Yeddyurappa on Monday said 'Jan Aakrosh Divas' on the demonetisation issue has proved to be "an utter flop."
"Aakrosh Divas called by Opposition parties has proved to be an utter flop and is a tight slap on their faces for failing to garner support for their stand against demonetisation, which has given problems to people," he said in a statement here.
He said the "sinister design and devious attempts of the Opposition parties to misguide the people against Prime Minister Narendra Modi has utterly failed. "
"The Congress stands exposed in this exercise due their wavering stands over the issue," Yeddyurappa said.
"First it supported the Bharat bandh call given by a few parties. Later it developed cold feet when it realised that the bandh will be a flop... Congress changed its plan, from support to bandh to mere protest," he added.
At least now, Yeddyurappa said the protesting leaders should understand the "futility of opposing the BJP government on the issue of fight against corruption and black money.
