Rahul Easwar denies role in attack
Thiruvananthapuram: Thazhamon tantri family member Rahul Easwar on Saturday denied any involvement in the attack on swami Sandeepananda Giri’s ashram at Kundamankadavu.
He told news channels that his name was being deliberately dragged to divert the attention from the Sabarimala issue. There is widespread resentment against the government over the manner in which it handled the Sabarimala issue. Rahul suspected a conspiracy to foist cases againt them ahead of the pilgrim season. He said there were reports that the attack could have been stage managed.
Earlier Sandeepananda Giri had held Tantri family, Rahul Easwar, Pandal-am ex-royals and BJP state leadership responsible for the attack. The Pandalam palace elective committee denied any role in the attack on Sandeepananda's ashram.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders alleged that the Swami and CPM had hatched conspiracy to create a sympathy wave for the government and to portray the Sangh Parivar activists as culprits. A free and fair probe would bring out the truth.
