Kottayam: The Nair Service Society will stand firm on its stand regarding the Sabarimala issue and will not bow down to the threats of the state government, according to general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair.
“The state government is trying to propagate fake secularism to promote atheism,” Mr Nair told the NSS delegates’ meeting held at Perunna on Saturday.
Mr Nair alleged that the state government and the TDB had failed to inform the Supreme Court about the rituals and faith being practised by Sabarimala devotees.
“The TDB has to file a review petition in the Supreme Court. The TDB was constituted by Mannathu Padmanabhan and made an independent constitutional body later. The SC will hear the review petition given by the NSS and we expect a favourable verdict. Even if the verdict is unfavourable, we will not go back on our stand,” Mr Nair said.
The NSS will legally face the moves to charge fake cases against the devotees who conducted peaceful namajapa processions, he said.
The NSS will hoist its flags at over 5,700 karayogams in the state on October 31, NSS flag day. It will also conduct ‘Viswasa namjapam’ in front of the picture of Ayyapa, he said.
