Hyderabad: Unable to bear the harassment from her husband, a 28-year-old housewife committed suicide in Malkajgiri. The police said Roja hanged herself to death in their house. According to the police, Roja was married to Srikanth in 2012 and was staying in Jyothi Nagar along with kids and in-laws. Her family claimed to have given '20 lakh as dowry.
However, her husband and in-laws started harassing her for additional dowry.
Her parents alleged that Srikanth and his family members harassed her mentally and physically. Unable to bear the harassment, she committed suicide.
She was alone at home and when her husband returned, he found the body hanging from the ceiling in the bedroom.
A case for abetment to suicide has been registered and the body was handed over to her family after the autopsy.
