CHENNAI: Actor Vishal’s auditor Sridhar appeared in income tax office on Friday for an enquiry into the tax deposited at source (TDS) amount due, of the actor’s production house. Last Monday, I-T officials from TDS wing conducted a raid at his production house in Kumaran Nagar, Vadapalani, and went through Vishal’s documents to verify if the production house has not deposited TDS to the government account. A few reports had also mentioned that the actor’s production house was raided by the Chennai Zonal Unit of the Directorate General of Goods and Service Tax Intelligence (DGGSTI). They later found dues amounting to '51 lakh and the officials issued a summon for him to appear on Friday to give an explanation and file the details. According to income tax rules, the deducted tax is to be paid to the income tax department within 7 days and sources say they have agreed to pay the amount.
