Opposition maligning Telangana and Centre, says K Chandrasekhar Rao

KCR accused Opposition parties of defaming TRS government in the state for not providing jobs to youth.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao came out in support of the Narendra Modi government on the unemployment issue in the Legislative Assembly on Friday.

He accused Opposition parties of defaming the TRS government in the state and the Modi government at the Centre for not providing jobs to youth as promised in the 2014 elections.

The Chief Minister said the Opposition parties were misleading students by claiming that the TRS and BJP had promised to provide government jobs but failed to do so even after three years.

No more hiring on contract, KCR vows in Assembly
“It’s not possible for any government to provide government jobs to all. Jobs means jobs in both government and private sectors. But they are defaming the TRS government and Modi government by claiming that we promised government jobs to all,” he said.

He announced that there will not be any more contract/ outsourcing recruitment by the Telangana government, which would henceforth provide only permanent employment. He said previous TD and Congress governments had encouraged the contract/outsourcing system since 1996 and exploited thousands of employees by paying meagre salaries even though they had two decades of work experience and delivered results on par with regular employees.

“When the TRS government is trying to regularise their services and pay them salaries on par with regular staff, the Opposition parties are filing cases in courts and obstructing their regularisation. To overcome this, we have recently increased their salaries without waiting for regularisation to be done,” he said.

Following a suggestion by MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, the CM assured the House that the government will implement quotas meant for BCs, SCs, STs and minorities. “We will ensure that all reservations are strictly implemented during regularisation," the CM said.
