KPCC list dispute knows no respite

Meanwhile, Mr K. Muraleedharan MLA has come out in the open against the final list.

Thiruvananthapuram: The KPCC list has hit a roadblock again with former chief minister Oommen Chandy insisting on the inclusion of former MLA P. C. Vishnunath from Ezhukone block. However, Mr Kodikunnil Suresh MP has opposed this and asked the high command to include his nominee Veliyam Sreekumar.

Though Mr Sreekumar was included from the Panmana block, Mr Suresh wanted his inclusion from Ezhukone block itself. He also wants his nominee to be taken from the Thalavoor block. Mr Vishnunath is currently AICC secretary.

Meanwhile, Mr K. Muraleedharan MLA has come out in the open against the final list.

He criticised the exclusion of Mr Shashi Tharoor from Ulloor block and including someone from outside the block in his place.

Mr Muraleedharan said that the list prepared considering group interests should not be accepted and wanted more discussions to protect the image of the party.

Mr Muraleedharan has reportedly submitted a complaint to the high command in this regard.

KPCC president M.M. Hassan had submitted the final list based on the high command’s suggestion for more representation for SC/ST, women and youth. It had asked the state leadership to contact Congress election commission chairman Mullappally Ramachandran, party general secretary, who is in charge of Kerala, Mukul Wasnik, Mr V.M. Sudheeran and Mr P.C. Chacko, and also consider the complaints raised by the Congress MPs before revamping the list.

Party vice-president Rahul Gandhi had also criticised the list for excluding those not affiliated to any groups in the party.
