Supply mineral water for tribals, says N Chandrababu Naidu

CM also calls for good broadband connectivity in rural areas

Vijayawada: For faster development of the tribal areas and tribal communities and to improve their health standards, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Thursday ordered officials to supply mineral water to every household in the tribal areas along with meeting the nutrition requirements of the tribal communities.

He said that a special drive will be taken up to provide clean drinking water, distribution of nutritious food, health and education facilities and in improving the road connectivity.

In addition to it, the Chief Minister called for robust broadband connectivity in rural areas for which he asked the officials to make use of funds worth Rs 50 crore to Rs 100 crore.

He said that awareness must be spread among the tribal people on the usage of cell phones and that a plan should be made to increase the relationship of the tribes with the outside world.

The CM asked the officials to work out a plan where the services of the Dwcra groups can be utilised in the distribution of clean drinking water and nutritious food.

To prevent malaria in tribal areas, the Chief Minister has directed for large scale plantation of Citronella grass variety and other 4 to 5 varieties to control mosquito growth.

Besides this, the Chief Minister called for immediate filling up of posts in all the health centres of the tribal-dominated districts and asked the officials to conduct walk-in interviews for it.

The Chief Minister said that special incentives should be provided to doctors and super-specialists who work in the Agency areas and that there is a need to improve the motivation levels among them.

“Special drive will be taken up to provide nutritious food, clean drinking water, better health care facilities, employment opportunities and to enhance communication in tribal areas,” stressed the Chief Minister. Funds would not be paucity for taking all these programmes, he said.
