VISAKHAPATNAM: Chief Secretary S.P. Tucker has called on district officials to carry out an exercise to take forward and conceptualise the memorandum of understandings (MoUs) they entered into with various private organisations by coming January 27.
Mr Tucker was speaking at a meeting here at the Collectorate in Visakhapatnam with the representatives of tourism, information technology, industries, etc.
District Industries Department general manager Mr A. Ramalinga Raju and AP Tourism Development Corporation executive director R. Sriramulu Naidu gave power point presentations about the progress of the MoUs.
“In January, the state government entered into 26 MoUs with various organisations, which would bring in about Rs 46,343 crore investments to Vizag district. Another 28 MoUs, which amount to Rs 1,025 crore in the tourism industry, are in various stages of implementation,” said Mr Sriramulu Naidu.
Later, Mr Tucker said they were drafting a framework for IT employees in Visakhapatnam. District collector Pravin Kumar, APIIC chairman P. Krishnaiah, Vuda VC T. Baburao Naidu, GVMC commissioner M. Hari Narayanan and others were present.
Industrial growth in north Andhra will be faster: CS
State Chief Secretary S.P. Tucker observed that industrial growth will be faster in northern districts of the state. He interacted with industrialists drawn from three districts of north Andhra on Thursday at a meeting organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) - Visakhapatnam Zone “Stakeholders Interactive Session on Accelerating Industrial Growth in northern districts of AP” While interacting he resolved some issues related to power, water, commercial taxes, labour, pollution, land, hospitals and tourism.
In response to depositing of cash for power connection to the industry he said that bank guarantee will be allowed so that industry would have more working capital. APIIC, chairman, Dr P Krishnaiah, in his interaction facilitated and addressed the land issues and its availability for the industries in the region.
APPCB, member secretary, B S S Prasad, addressed various issues concerning water cess and pollution and also he promised for quicker resolution of this issues. EPDCL, CMD, spoke about the issues related to power in this region and explained about the Kaizala app and its advantages.Vizag and Vizianagaram districts collectors, Pravin Kumar and Vivek Yadav respectively interacted with the industry delegates.
