Bada Ganesh Farewell Concludes With Grand Immersion

Hyderabad: The immersion of the much awaited Khairatabad Bada Ganesh was done in the Hussain Sagar Lake at around 1.30 pm on Thursday. The Bada Ganesh which began its journey from its installation point at 6am on Thursday, reached the immersion point near Crane no 4 set up on the NTR marg covering around 2 kms distance in around 7:30 hours.

Amidst the chants of devotees all thronging the route to seek final blessings of this Ganeshotsav from Lord Vinayak, accompanied by the organisers amidst a thick security cover, the bada Ganesh procession concluded its journey, followed by a successful immersion ritual.

Preparations for the immersion of probably the country’s tallest ganesh idol weighing arround 50 tonnes, began from Wednesday midnight. After the vehicle was ready for the procession, organisers performed a special puja in the early morning. Festivities peaked with devotees dancing to drums, chanting prayers.

Two special vehicles have been brought from Vijayawada for the immersion of this idol. The idol landed in the lake at 6.30 pm in the year 2022, but this time, the organisers ensured that the immersion is done much earlier and as per the plan. Hence, this year the immersion was done by 1.30pm. With the major event of the entire immersion concluded peacefully, police and civic authorities have heaved a sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, the Balapur Ganesh has entered the city limits and is navigating along its designated route in the city. Balapur Ganesh idol immersion will also be done by the evening. In addition, thousands of ganesh idols from across the city have been heading towards the MJ market junction and then proceeding to Hussain Sagar for the immersion.
