SFI sweeps University College polls

Elections are being held after a gap of over 18 years.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Students Federation of India (SFI) which won the elections to most of the colleges in the district during the college Union elections on Friday had a landslide victory in the University College for most seats.

This year’s Students Union election at the University College, Thiruvananthapuram was historic as it was after a span of 18 years, that the college has witnessed elections.

In most of the seats the victory margin was over 1,500 votes against the KSU aspirants.

The office bearers of the college are chairman: Jobin Jose, vice-chairperson: Arya Chandran G, University Union Councillors: Vineesh Shaji and Anju B., General Secretary: Akhbar Sha V.S.,Arts Club Secretary: Sachu Rajappan.

Vote shares: chairman (SFI-2219,KSU- 416),Vice chairman (SFI 2,088,KSU-536),General Secretary (SFI- 2,169, KSU-446),Arts Club Secretary: (SFi-2,258,KSU-363). SFI also won Government Sans-krit College, Malay-inkeezhu Government College, Government Ar-ts College, Karyavattom Government College, Government Women's College and Sri Swathi Thirunal College of Music among others.
