Hyderabad: Hyderabad High Court on Thursday directed the AP revenue authorities not to take any decisions or pass any orders with regard to the controversy in the alienation of 2,776.23 acres to M/s. Indian Famers’ Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) in Nellore district.
A Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakri-shnan and Justice S.V. Bhatt, was dealing with a petition by E. Sridhar Reddy and three others from Nellore district questioning the action of the AP government in allotting government land, including the land belonging to Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple to IFFCO.
While expressing dismay at non-implementation of the orders of the court, granted in the year 2008, for determination of title of lands belonging to Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple, the Bench said that since all the records pertaining to the issue was before them, they will deal with the case and also the apathy of the authorities concerned in the issue.
The petitioners brought to the notice of the court that the state government had handed over more than 2,776 acres, including 1,009.81 acres of temple land to the IFFCO, without paying any compensation or without initiating any land acquisition proceedings for the establishment of a Special Economic Zone and the IFFCO has become a real estate dealer, making profits by allocating the lands to various industries. The Bench posted the case to October 4.
