Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said that the state had achi-eved progress in several sectors over the past four years by utilising the state bifurcation crisis as an opportunity. He said AP would be develop-ed as the number one st-ate in the country by 2029.
The CM said AP had achieved 10.52 per cent growth rate over the pa-st four years. Efforts we-re on to develop the state as Number One in the country, by achieving a 15 per cent growth rate.
Addressing a session on Governance in the Age of Technology, at Columbia University in New York, the Chief Minister said seven missions were formulated for the development of Navyandhra Pradesh, including the primary sector, social empowerment missions, infrastructure, service sector, knowledge, skill develo-pment, urban develop-ent, and industrial sector.
The CM said that with constant effort, the state had emerged as a power surplus state from the power deficit stage in the past. He said a holistic approach would be adopted for development of roads in all the regions. He said television with 250 channels, Inter-net, net phone facilities were provided to each house for '149 per mo-nth under the AP Fibre Grid project.
He said for the first time in the country the state government had taken up river linking project by linking the Krishna and Godavari rivers through the Patti-seema lift irrigation scheme. He said, a certain amount of Godavari water was released to the Krishna River to prevent water shortage in the Rayalaseema region.
He said the state government had been exte-nding financial support to students to pursue ov-erseas education through the Vidyonnati scheme. He said the state government had been giving Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000 to brides under the Chandranna Pellikanuka scheme. He said pensions, ration and insurance were being distributed using Aadhaar or facial recognition.
Mr Naidu said the Chandranna Bhima scheme was being successfully implemented under real time governance. Using real time governance, for accountability was made possible to all public services. He said all departments had been brought under e-Pragati and separate Apps had been introduced for utilising some of the services.
The grievance cell No: 1100 would help to register and redress the grievances of lakhs of people.
He said that the AP government had been encouraging natural farming since 2016 and over 5 lakh farmers had adopted natural farming methods. A target was set to spread natural farming to 2 crore acres, involving 60 lakh farmers by 2024.
