WARANGAL: In a tragic incident, three children from a family met with a watery grave on Wednesday at Papaiapeta village in Warangal Rural district. The deceased were identified as Gunjela Akhila, 11, her brother Sai Kiran, 9, and their cousin Adhira Ajay, 9.
According to the police, the four children had gone to the tank along with Adhira Yadamma, mother of Ajay. One of them, Rajesh, first fell into the tank and Yadamma jumped into the water to save him with the help from others. Yadamma managed to save Rajesh but failed to save the other three children who too fell into the water.
Hearing the hue and cry, the nearby villagers rushed to the spot and saved Yadamma. Later, the bodies of the other three children were fished out.
