Bengaluru: Downplaying the differences between him and BJP national joint secretary Santosh, party state president B.S. Yeddyurappa asserted that there was no friction between them. “I and Santhosh are like brothers, we are working together for the party. The differences were a creation of the media, Actually, I and Santosh work unitedly,” he said.
The cold war between Yeddyurappa and Santhosh had left the party cadre confused and they did not know from whom to take orders. In fact the majority of the cadre in the districts are loyal to Mr Santhosh while those in urban centres are solidly behind Yeddyurappa.
There was a clear division between the original BJP cadre and outsiders and former loyalists of KJP-the now defunct party founded by Yeddyurappa- in most districts across the state.
