Vijayawada: Tollywood actor Mahesh Babu has created a buzz on social media by praising AP Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and the YSRC chief’s father the late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy during a TV interview to promote his latest movie.
Mahesh Babu said his father Krishna was closely associated with YSR and had a good understanding about Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s vision for the development of the state.
“When I met Dr YSR, he received me well. His son, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, also was there when I met him. Dr YSR was a magnanimous leader and he used to think about public welfare always,” Mahesh Babu said.
He added that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy was following in the footsteps of his father Dr YSR.
“My father has special affection for Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy,” Mahesh Babu said in the interview, and added the YSRC chief was there for the people of Navyandhra, like YSR.
While the TD social media wing has not reacted so far, Mahesh Babu’s interview set many social media websites alight with discussions on its impact.
Krishna’s brother G. Adiseshagiri Rao has been supporting the YSRC for a long time but the veteran actor has himself never openly said anything about his political inclination towards any party.
Krishna’s son-in-law Galla Jayadev is the TD MP from Guntur, and even he did not react to Mahesh Babu’s praise for YSR and Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy.
