Vijayawada: Though the flood flow in Krishna Basin appears to be optimistic at present, the complete needs of Anantapur district can’t be addressed with the available water resources in the basin, said an irrigation official.
If such is the case, Chagallu balancing reservoir will get only half TMC, like it got last year also. The GO has mentioned a clause that when there is a possibility of allocating water to Mylavaram reservoir from Gandikita reservoir of Kadapa district, then only the allocation of water from HLC to Chagallu should take place.
Even in that case also, Chagallu won’t get more than the half TMC of water, as per the availability of waters. All these developments suggest that Mr J.C. Diwakar Reddy’s exercise on Chagallu is more or less a high drama, aiming at his political opponents Paritala Sunitha and others in TD of Anantapur district.
Mr Diwakar Reddy joined the TD after the reorganisation of the state.
