Chandrababu Naidu attempts to meet PM Modi go in vain

For over the past one and a half years, Mr Naidu has not had the chance for face-to-face meeting with the Prime Minister.

Vijayawada: During his Delhi visit, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had sought to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah, but he was denied an appointment, a TD MP has revealed.

For over the past one and a half years, Mr Naidu has not had the chance for face-to-face meeting with the Prime Minister.

Very interesting discussions are happening across the state on Modi-Naidu ties. The Chief Minister has been seeking an appointment with the PM whenever he visits the capital, but in vain. Mr Naidu’s TD is an important ally in the NDA. According to a TD MP, the Chief Minister’s Office had requested the Prime Minister’s Office for appointment on September 25 and 26. But the PMO informed the CMO about Mr Modi’s busy schedule with the BJP’s national executive committee meeting on September 25, and did not respond about the appointment sought on Sept. 26. With this, Chandrababu Naidu met Union ministers Nitin Gadkari and Arun Jaitley.

The TD MP said the CMO even sought the appointment of BJP chief Amit Shah, for which earlier they had given time slot of 9.30 pm on Sept. 25, but later had not reacted or responded as even Amit Shah was busy with the national executive committee meeting. He said this avoidance might be a way to not discuss the commitments given to AP.

Mr. Naidu has been trying to discuss face-to-face with the Prime Minister on funds pending to the state. The Union Government is treating AP same as other states and is not coming forward to fulfil the commitments given. Polavaram project, revenue deficit, EAP projects, and other projects mentioned in special assistance measures are also not being honoured.
