Andhra Pradesh: Haribabu appointed chief of BJP standing panel

The committee comprising of 20 MPs and 10 members of Rajya Sabha.

Visakhapatnam: Vizag MP, K Hari Babu of BJP has been appointed as chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Energy. The committee comprising of 20 MPs and 10 members of Rajya Sabha. The functions of the Standing Committee on Energy like other DRSCs are to consider the Demands for Grants of the concerned minis-tries/departments and make a report on the same to the House; to examine such Bills pertaining to the concerned minis-tries/departments as are referred to the Committee by the Chairperson, Rajya Sabha or the Speaker, Lok Sabha as the case may be and make reports thereon; to consider annual re-ports of Ministries/Departments -and to consider national basic long-term policy documents presented to the Houses, if referred to the Committee by the Chairman, Rajya Sabha or the Speaker, as the case may be, and make reports thereon.
