Tirupati: BJP spokesperson G. Bhanu Prakash Reddy said the TTD administration was trying to hush up the shortage of jewellery at its treasury which was reported in October 2017, and asked why it had not ordered an inquiry by the vigilance and security wing.
Displaying the document which had exposed the issue of ornaments going missing from the TTD’s treasury, Mr Reddy, a former trust board member, and BJP secretary Samanchi Srinivas expressed anguish over the TTD management.
“TTD had simply ordered for a recovery from the officer-in-charge instead of looking into the reasons why and how the crown and two gold rings went missing from the treasury. They didn’t initiate any criminal proceedings against the official and tried to hush up it,” he said.
