Chennai: 'Traffic' Ramaswamy threatens to jump off terrace, again

This is the second time Ramaswamy is climbing up the terrace threatening to commit suicide.

Chennai: On Sunday morning social activist 'Traffic' Ramaswamy climbed on top of his three-floor office building in Mannadi and threatened to jump off, if Tamil Nadu governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao fails to give him appointment to make his representation on dissolution of the AIADMK government.

This is the second time Ramaswamy is climbing up the terrace threatening to commit suicide. Ramaswamy staged the protest by climbing atop a water tank on the terrace of the building on Prakasam Salai in Mannadi. He threatened to end his life if his representation to take action against the present AIADMK government headed by Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palanisami is not considered.

Police team, which rushed to the spot to pacify Ramaswamy, had to negotiate with him for more than an hour to make him come down.

He was locked up inside his office for a while. On July 16, he had climbed up on the terrace threatening to jump from there while demanding action against the state ministers who were involved in the gutkha scam. He had then also called for the unconditional release of the anti-ONGC protesters arrested in Kathiramangalam.
