Hyderabad: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday criticised the T-Congress leaders for opposing the agreement between TS and Maharashtra for construction of barrages on River Godavari.
Speaking the party headquarters here, Mr Owaisi said it was shocking that the Congress was opposing an agreement that will ultimately help irrigates 39 lakh acres in the state. He said Congress leaders’ criticism of the agreement would not get the party any political mileage. “On the contrary, it would further damage the image of the Congress in TS,” the MP said. He advised the Congress to listen to the party’s senior leader K. Jana Reddy who spoke the truth when he said that there was no agreement between Maharashtra and undivided AP to utilise Godavari waters.
