A family had to risk crossing the flooded rivulet with the body of the deceased family member in Cheryala Mandal of Siddipet district for the performing the last rites. The place is not very far from Gajwel, CM KCR's constituency.
The local populace's repeated pleas for the construction of a bridge over the rivulet which would have ensured better connectivity for the area and ensured that people are not compelled to resort to such a risky way of commute, have gone unheeded by the local BRS MLA M Yadgiri Reddy whose attention is focussed on more pressing issues of encroaching lands & lakes, a charge substantiated by his own daughter Tulja Bhavani Reddy earlier.
Telangana Congress shared a video of the family crossing the flooded rivulet with the corpse on its twitter handle with the caption, " In Siddipet district’s Cheryala Mandal, not faraway from CM KCR’s constituency they had to carry a body of the deceased for the last rites in such a risky way crossing the flood. Their pleas for years, for a bridge over the rivulet have fallen on deaf ears even as the local MLA seems to be quite busy encroaching lands and lakes."
