Chennai: ‘Dial for water 2.0’ to help get metro water lorry in two days
Chennai: The Chennai metropolitan water supply and sewerage board(CMWSSB) seems to have finally taken notice of distraught Chennaiites' plight. The board announced its plan to introduce 'Dial for water 2.0' late on Friday, through a series of tweets. Under this scheme, water will be delivered to citizens within two days of booking.
The tweet read that citizens can now book water either online through thelink https://chennaimetrowater.in/login_dfw.html or by calling 044-45674567.
However, only 3,000 litres water tankers can be booked through call, said, officials. Consumers can opt for cash on delivery payment in case of call booking while the prepaid mode of payment will be followed in case of online booking. However, upon receiving water the consumer needs to wait for another 7-10 days for his/her turn to book again. Also, the consumers will not be able to cancel or change the 'pre-booked' date of supply.
While multi-storeyed buildings can book water tankers of capacity 9,000,12000 and 16,000 kilolitres, 3,000, 6,000 and 9,000 kilolitres capacity water tankers will be made available for individual houses, officials informed.
