Telangana Rashtra Samithi plans remain in graphics, says BJP
Hyderabad: The BJP on Friday said that Hyderabad city had become a “living hell” under the TRS government. The party said development was seen only in computer graphics being released by the TRS government for the past four years but nothing had happened in reality. Addressing a press conference here, BJP MLAs G. Kishan Reddy, Ch. Ramachandra Reddy, N.V.S.S. Prabhakar and MLC N. Ramachandra Rao rubbished the municipal development report released by minister KT Rama Rao recently.
“The recent development report released by KTR is a bunch of lies. The TRS government did not bother to hold a single district review meeting of the city in four years. Earlier, DRC meetings used to be held regularly, in which solutions to various problems plaguing city were found. Worse still, the Chief Minister met city MLAs only twice in these four years. This shows the lack of sincerity and commitment of the TRS government towards the development of the city from which the state government extracts maximum revenue collection.” Mr Kishan Reddy said.
Mr Kishan Reddy recalled the statement given by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in the Legislative Assembly soon after assuming office, when he said even a little rain in the city would inundate the CM camp office in Begumpet and Raj Bhavan. Mr Kishan Reddy asked, “Is it not a fact that even a little rain in city inundates the CM’s camp office and Raj Bhavan areas even after four years of TRS rule. Who will take the responsibility for this, KCR or KTR? Only tall claims and big announcements on the city’s development from Pragathi Bhavan, nothing happens on the ground.
Where are KCR’s skyscrapers around Hussain Sagar and what about filling Hussain Sagar with pure drinking water?” Mr Prabhakar asked why the TRS government was discriminating against Hyderabad by not implementing Mission Kakatiya to restore and beautify the lakes in the city while implementing the same in other districts. “Is Hyderabad not part of Telangana? Why is the government not acting against lake encroachers? Why is the government not fencing all the lakes to check encroachments in future? While the CM confines himself to the camp office and his farm house, the ministers too have no time to discuss with city MLAs on the city's development. We wonder whom to approach to take up city issues.” Mr Prabhakar said.
Mr Ramchandra Rao said the pathetic drainage system, bad roads filled with potholes, frequent traffic jams, pollution and ill-maintained parks and public places had made life miserable for citizens in the city and it was high time the TRS government took concrete steps to improve the situation instead of making tall claims.
